#Throwbackthursday “The Solace of Open Spaces”

IMG_2726Summer is drawing to a close. And with summer ending my respite from writing is almost over. But I haven’t been without a creative spark, I have notes, fragments, and many pictures to share. I’ve been reading, and doing. I had a professional hurdle to jump and did that. September will be a look back at a bittersweet but overwhelmingly happy summer.

Between work stuff and home stuff and personal stuff my life is moving along too quickly to breathe and write about it. In a week or so I’ll have the docket clear and will be writing again. Meanwhile, Because sometimes nothing and everything happens at once.

#Throwbackthursday Must Love Dogs

IMG_9020I waited months to announce I was dating because I didn’t want to spend years or months complaining about dating. I completely lucked out with Dr. Doctor. Fortunately on most days he thinks he scored big, too. Except for that time I took a muscle relaxer on the way to the airport in Mexico and was dangerously close to being a chocolate mess.

#Throwbackthursday I had to break my back to get here!

The thistles came out and brought gold finches and meadow larks as we waved good by to Mr. C and Piper.

Continuing my stroll down memory lane: Sometimes it takes a near catastrophic event to get our attention My attention was gained! Sometimes it waivers and I forget the lessons learned, fortunately, no big reminders have been necessary.

#Throwbackthursday: allow me to introduce myself

I go on and on about how the prairie looks vacant and it's necessary to look to the details for the beauty of this big empty. The primroses are one of those tiny details. I met a lovely woman who ranched down the road from the boyfriend's place and we talked wild flowers. If I get my nerve up I may ask to walk with me in late June and identify the flowers for me. Rumor has it anemones will be blooming in a couple of weeks. They are one of my favorites.

I haven’t exactly lost my writing mojo I’m just not writing much this last month or so. I’m ok with that as I do other things outside of my head. Life is very good now and I’m a happy-busy! Here’s today’s throwback post: Just in case you didn’t catch this last year: allow me to introduce myself!

#Throwbackthursday Last Summer

beautiful milk thistle bloomed for a short time in a ditch near the lake. I had never seen it before and was enchanted.

This week’s throwback post takes us back to last June when I was thinking about ways to tame the wild areas around the yellow house. My my how plans change when we least expect it!
