July, August, September

Mid summer my favorite time of the year! It was quiet around the house with Piper and Mr. C gone. Brother and I settled into an easy rhythm of shared suppers. A lot of the time he and Gracie were off on camping adventures. While I held down the fort and wandered around taking pictures of flowers and the sky.

The fourth of July at Lake Loveland. The weather was churlish to begin with but cleared in time for the display. One of the finest I've ever seen. Plus the company was the finest, too.

Usually by the end of July things are looking a little dry and tatty but we had a lot of rain and things stayed green and then mostly green well into September.

Gracie finally warmed up to me and we became buddies. I would take her with me on errands. She would "help" me in the office by supervising from the couch with her eyes closed.

About Laura

When my nest emptied I moved from the big city to a little big town to tend to a ramshackle yellow house on the edge of town. These are my Yellow House Days.
