Ask to be Led

I found this poem here. I don’t completely agree with it because I’m a proponent of manifesting what we desire/need in our lives. Yes, it takes effort above and beyond hanging about and meditating. But sometimes we are led a little to the left or right of what we are attempting to manifest. I’ve learned to stop stamping my foot when it’s not dead center to what I thought was best for me.

We can’t ask
for what we know we want:
we have to ask to be led
someplace we never dreamed of going,
a place we don’t want to be.

We’ll find ourselves there
one morning,
opened like leaves,
and it will be all right.

About Laura

When my nest emptied I moved from the big city to a little big town to tend to a ramshackle yellow house on the edge of town. These are my Yellow House Days.
